Everything hinges on this...

I heard it once said "big doors swing wide with little hinges". These old stable doors have hinges of every size. Most of them are just for looks and others are simply functional. But they all do the same job.

As I detail-painted hinges and hardware today I got to thinking. (It's a lot easier to think in the barn.) How did I get here? I mean, this farm is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me ...next to my husband and children. I didn't do all the right things and perfectly plan out my future. I wasn't even looking for a horse farm.

Somewhere along the way my husband and I realized we wanted to pursue more "togetherness" in our life. We committed to each other to do this and just left it in God's hands. I'm guessing that's where the hinge was positioned to do its job. It was such a simple and even small hinge that, I believe, opened up a huge door of blessing to us.

I have hope that love and gratefulness will open many more doors for many people here on this beautiful farm.
