Barn Swallow's Approval

We toted all our buckets and scrub brushes into the barn like a SWAT team invasion. The stall walls and doors were splattered with bird mess almost in an artistic fashion. As we executed our vengeance on years of neglect I noticed a nest of barn swallows. Their little heads were popping out of their nest as if to say, "We've been here for generations. Who are you?".
As I scrubbed and washed up to my elbows in Murphy's Oil Soap, I realized how we are a blended family with these little creatures. We're both new to each other but we both need each other.
Our new adventure to board horses is an act of joining with God's nature to make a home. Home is special for all living things; birds, horses, people. The security of "home" is a blessing to cherish and value.
Don't worry little birdies. I'm not just barreling in with my buckets to invade. I'm creating a home we all can enjoy!
